TV Presenters in US Facing Child Abuse Charges After 4-Month-Old Tests Positive For Cocaine

Two television reporters in the US are facing charges of child abuse after their four-month-old baby tested positive for cocaine. According to reports, Somchai Lisaius and Krystin Lisaius from Arizona also face drug possession charges after they were arrested for allegedly snorting cocaine during a party at their home last month. A report from the local police department outlines that the morning after the “gathering” the couple took their child to the hospital after Mrs Lisaius noticed that her baby had become “limp” and her “eyes were rolling” into the back of her head. It was only when the Office of Child Welfare Investigations and Department of Child Safety got involved that doctors were permitted to conduct a urinalysis and blood-work. Mrs Lisaius later admitted that she breastfed her child 12 hours after she last snorted cocaine. She apparently thought that this was sufficient time in order to avoid any negative effects. The couple pleaded not guilty to all charges. Their child is expected to make a full recovery.
