Ukraine: 6-year-old girl killed as death toll continues to rise

Kat O'Connor

She was only 6-years-old.

A 6-year-old girl has been killed in Ukraine, Associated Press confirmed.

The young girl and her parents were victims of a recent Russian shelling.

The little girl and her parents were in a supermarket when Russian soldiers attacked.

The tragedy, which occurred in Mariupol, highlights the harrowing cost of Putin’s actions.

Frontline workers rushed the young girl to the hospital.

Her mother wept outside the ambulance as they tried to save her.

Her unicorn pajamas were covered in blood as she lay in the ambulance.

According to The Irish Times, hospital staff did everything they could to save her, but sadly it wasn’t enough.

Doctors and nurses worked tirelessly to save the young girl.

Associated Press was allowed into the hospital to film.

As the doctors tried to resuscitate the young girl, one turned to the camera and said: “Show this to Putin. The eyes of this child, and crying doctors.”

The young girl’s senseless death is impossible to even comprehend.

We can’t even begin to imagine what her parents are going through at this moment.

To help support the people of Ukraine, you can make a donation to The Irish Red Cross.

They are advising the public to donate money rather than physical items.

They explained that they’re concerned about “clogging up” transportation routes with physical items.

However, cash donations will help people get the goods they need too.

Donations will help charities source goods locally, they stressed.

“Your donation will help those affected get food, medicine, shelter, and water.

“Your support will also help the Red Cross to assist those displaced by conflict.”
