View from my sofa: Check out the Late Late lineup and our top TV picks for this weekend

Who's joining Ryan on tonight's Late Late Show? And other exciting news from Tellyland

Sophie White

So I briefly considered doing something until I caught sight of tonight’s Late Late Show line up and thought I’d be far happier cuddled up to the hubby imagining that he’s the Tubby and eating my face off with snacks and tea. I literally could not be any more OLD at this point.

Tonight on the Late Late Show…

Singer and TV presenter Stacey Solomon will join Ryan to talk about her, some might say slightly unlikely, romance with Steve-O and the release of her first album Shy.

Also joining Ryan is actor Leigh Arnold, who will be explaining how charity First Light helped her cope with the death of her son. Leigh also recently announced the exciting news that she’s expecting a baby.

Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin will be chatting to Ryan about the future of the party. While Irish television and film actor Kerry Condon will be discussing, among other things, her role in the hit TV series, Better Call Saul.

Elsewhere in TV Land tonight…

Blur, that’s right BLUR are playing on Later…with Jools Holland, the first time they’ve played together in 16 years (BBC 2, 11.35pm). While fave Corkman, Graham Norton will be attempting to illicit some craic out of Carey Mulligan over on BBC1 at 10.35pm.

Other highlights this weekend include:

The Saturday Night Show (Saturday, RTE1, 9.45pm)

Brendan O’Connor is joined by Markus Feehily to chat about his solo career and life after Westlife, while Mundy will debut his latest single, Shot in the Dark. Also joining the show is Prof. Donal O Sé talking about Ireland’s obesity epidemic and Brendan meets a patient awaiting surgery who is 28 stone.

Jane Eyre (Saturday, BBC2, 8.30pm)

The sex-fest version with certified ride, Michael Fassbender, playing the role of Mr. Rochester. I’ll generously be suggesting that The Man head out for pints with the lads, I’m good like that.

Game of Thrones (Sunday, Sky Atlantic, 9pm)

Second episode is ready for your viewing pleasure. Quick get to it before there’s any more plot leaks.

Ninja Warrior (Saturday, UTV Ireland, 7.00pm)

This basically sounds like Gladiators 2.0 and I am so there. Nostalgia fest. Remember Blind Date used to be on immediately after Gladiators … *sigh, 80s kids. Remember Jet…?
