Viking Splash Tours set to face liquidation later this month

A sad day for Dubliners and fans of the popular tour.

I grew up in Dublin City Centre and still remember being wowed when I saw the first Viking Splash bus go past. The tours have been incredibly popular with both Dublin locals and visitors to the city alike with its very unique take on travelling around historic sites. Unfortunately, the Viking Splash may be no more come 2021 as the company is set to go into liquidation later this month. The Covid pandemic has hit the tour companies (and many like it) very hard this year and could mean 2020 is the last time we'll see the buses roar through Dublin. According to The Irish Times the company has not operated at all since the first lockdown in March and The company will hold creditors' meetings on November 26. There is some suggestion though that there may be a potential buyer for the popular tour company so fingers crossed we haven't seen the last of the Viking Splash.
