The Wanted’s Tom Parker has “significant reduction” in brain tumour

Melissa Carton

Some good news.

Last October The Wanted singer Tom Parker revealed that he had been diagnosed with grade IV glioblastoma, which in many cases only gives a life expectancy of a few months.

This week Tom updated with the news that his brain tumour has shrunk giving his family, friends and fans hope that maybe it might be treatable after all.

Tom posted a photo yesterday of himself with his wife and two children, along with the positive breakthrough;

“SIGNIFICANT REDUCTION.
These are the words I received today and I can’t stop saying them over and over again.

I had an MRI scan on Tuesday and my results today were a significant reduction to the tumour and I am responding well to treatment. Everyday I’m keeping on the fight to shrink this bastard!

I can’t thank our wonderful NHS enough. You’re all having a tough time out there but we appreciate the work you are all doing on the front line.

To my amazing wife @being_kelsey who has literally been my rock.

My babies- I fight for you every second of every day.

Friends, family and everyone on this journey with me- you have got me through my darkest days????
To everyone on here- your love, light and positivity have inspired me. Every message has not been unnoticed they have given me so much strength.

This journey is a rollercoaster that’s for sure. Today is a fucking good day.”

Since posting yesterday to Instagram the post has received over 65 thousand likes with friends and family of the The Wanted singer delighted that there may actually be light at the end of the tunnel.

Tom still has a fight ahead of him but it seems that what was thought to have been a terminal diagnosis may not be which is fantastic.
