Woman charged with starving a 3-year-old to death sentenced to 75 years

Is there a sentence long enough?

The South Dakota woman accused of the starvation death of a 3-year-old girl has been sentenced to 75 years in prison.

Renae Fayant, 27, and Robert Price, Jr., 29, were the child’s (who is Fayant’s neice) caregivers for two years. Both are accused of her death.

The autopsy showed the toddler died of dehydration and malnourishment and investigators say the girl was confined to a small area of the home where they also found feces.

Price pleaded not guilty and is scheduled for a jury trial next month.

Fayant pleaded guilty in July to first-degree manslaughter and will live out her days in prison — a privilege not awarded to that poor little girl.
