The weather forecast is, yet again, a bit all over the place today

The rain will die out, but we’re not saying goodbye to it forever.

This week has been a bit of a pain in the ass. What was supposed to be the start of the gorgeous sunshine (Leaving Cert weather, where are you?), instead there were bursts of extremely heavy rain and unexpected cold spells.

Well, it is kinda-sorta looking up as Met Éireann has predicted that the showers will die out today. But of course, they’ll arrive back into some areas as the evening goes on.

The weather forecaster said: “Scattered outbreaks of rain in parts of the north east will die out this morning. Otherwise bright with scattered showers in the west and southwest becoming more widespread this afternoon but some good sunny spells too. Highest temperatures 13 to 16 degrees, in moderate to fresh west to northwesterly winds.”

Meanwhile, tonight: “Showers becoming mostly confined to west and north overnight. Dry elsewhere with clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 7 degrees.”

Tomorrow is looking much the same, with temperatures reaching the mid teens and a few scattered showers.

“Sunday will be a cool and bright day with sunny spells and variable cloud. Scattered showers in the west will spread eastwards through the day with some heavy and possibly thundery bursts towards evening. Highs of 13 to 15 degrees in mostly moderate west to southwest breezes, a little fresher in the northwest.”
