After 35 years, the Liffey taxi boat is making a comeback

Well, this could come in handy.

If anyone was out over Christmas then they'll know that trying to get a taxi around the city was a nightmare. Of course, it was Christmas and everyone is out during those few weeks but it was mental to say the least. Then there's the bus situation - let's just say they're not so reliable sometimes. So, this little taxi ferry might come in handy in the future. It has been out of action for 35 years, but is coming back in full operation on Monday February 11. It will be able to bring passengers from the 3Arena to Sir John Rogerson’s Quay to MV Cill Airne at North Wall Quay and back. Handy. The service will be avilable from 7am to 7pm every Monday to Friday and will cost €2 to bring you from point to point. It holds 18 people, and you will even be able to use your Leap Card on it. Lord Mayor of Dublin Nial Ring said: “The Liffey Ferry is part of Dublin’s story and to see the No11 back on the River after all this time is fantastic, and testament to those who had the foresight to preserve this important piece of history. "The ferry will be returning to a very different Dublin than the one she left, but I have no doubt that a new generation of Dubliners will enjoy this very welcome addition to the city just the same."
