Hit Irish comedy series
The Young Offenders has been renewed for a fourth season by BBC and RTÉ.
It's been nearly three years since the finale of the third season when we last saw lead characters Conor MacSweeney (Alex Murphy) and Jock O'Keeffe (Chris Walley) onscreen.
The two lovable rogues from Cork first appeared in the 2016 IFTA-winning movie of the same name which was later spun off into the beloved sitcom.
“We’re over the moon to have been commissioned for Series 4 of the show on BBC One, and of course always grateful for the ongoing support of RTÉ," the show's creator Peter Foott said in a statement.
"Audiences have been asking for more of the journeys of these characters and we’re very excited to take the show in new directions for Series 4 and can’t wait to bring it back to TV screens.”
Meanwhile, Justin Healy, Head of RTÉ Comedy, added: “The Young Offenders is a firm favourite with RTÉ audiences and we are delighted to be bringing it back to the screen. It’s exciting to be working with the BBC once again to bring Irish talent to an international audience.”
The director for the fourth season will be Jamie Jay Johnson (Dead Pixels, Fresh Meat) and producers have issued a casting call for the new batch of episodes. The closing date for applications is 10 March 2023 and further details can be found
