No one is a perfect mum.
Chrissy Teigen is often lauded for keeping it real when it comes to motherhood. She’s been honest when it comes to talking about experiencing postnatal depression and recently she shut down critics attempting to shame her for choosing to stop breastfeeding.
As wonderful as she may be, Chrissy isn’t a perfect parent because… they don’t exist!
She recently tweeted saying that she regrets making a certain comment to her two-year-old daughter Luna Simone Stephens.
I told Luna to “stop it” ONCE, months ago and now when she’s doing something she knows is wrong she screams DONT TELL ME TO STOP IT before I even say a word. As soon as it came out of my mouth I knew it would end me.

Those two-year-olds catch on quick! Fans were quick with witty responses to Chrissy’s honest tweet:
I’ve found it easier to let them do whatever they want. Sure, it’s setting them under for failure & will put a big burden on society in the future …. but man does it make my life less stressful.

When my daughter was 6, I told her she would get a quarter for every time she made her bed. One day she came down and handed me a quarter. She said she didn’t feel like making her bed that day and handed me a quarter. WTH. Kids are way too smart

My cousin wouldn’t tell her daughter “No” because she didn’t want a 2 year old telling her “No!” all the time. She would say, “That’s unacceptable.” All that did is make us laugh when a 2 year old constantly told her “That’s unacceptable!”

And some offered parenting phrases that might help rather than hinder:

When my sister and I behaved badly when my mom took us to the mall, she used to tell us the mannequins were once bad children. It worked every time. It helped when I babysat my younger cousins and they saw the greek statues missing some important appendage at the museum. ?

It could be the dreaded swear word that slips out and then gets parroted by your kids for the next six months or it could be a phrase like Chrissy’s, but every parent has said something around their kids that they’ve come to regret.
Mums- fess up!
