Strictly’s Kristina Rihanoff has ‘no regrets’ after having family late in life

Kristina has said she’s happy she waited to have children until the age of 38 – it even has her feeling younger.

The professional Russian dancer gave birth to a beautiful little girl named Mila in June 2016, and has said she needed to wait until she was mentally prepared.

My little star was born on this day last year. Can’t believe my little angel Mila is 1 year old today ! ❤️

The 40-year-old dancer had always wanted a family but that idea took the backseat due to her wanting a fruitful career.

Speaking to MailOnline, Kristina said;

“My career took me from a small city in Russia all over the world. I wanted to be the best dancer I could be and it took a lot of hard work and dedication.

“I don’t regret having a family later in life as I could never say that I sacrificed my career for a family. I also feel that it happened at the right time when I was mentally ready for it.”

She highlighted the fact that she needed to be in a space where she was satisfied, before starting a family, which she did with former England rugby player Ben Cohen after meeting during Strictly.

“It’s all about my family and my child and I want to look and feel good for them.”

Since giving birth to her little girl, Kristina has created a clothing range with PiaMichi of which she says;

“I really wish the taboo about women at 40 not being able to dress like the younger generation – or perhaps not make new career choices – would go away.”

Don’t we all.
