Sometimes I wonder just what I did with all my time before I became a parent. All that lolling around, complaining that I was SO busy (and SO tired) when really I had all the time in the world – or so it seems now, looking back.
It never ceases to amaze me just how much I can cram into a short space of time, although I never seem to be able to tick enough things off my to-do list. That’s why there are so many little things in the morning that make me happy and not only help me do what needs to be done in the day, but also get me through until lunchtime.
When you’re a parent, time really is of the essence, and sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest difference, such as…
1. Waking up and realising that it’s a dry shampoo day.
2. Getting my outfit choice right FIRST TIME.
3. Getting into the car and seeing a full tank of fuel.
4. Leaving the house without having broken a sweat.
5. Having already made my lunch for that day.
6. Being so early for work that I have time to stop for coffee.
7. Seeing the sun and knowing that the traffic (and everyone’s moods) will be better for it.
8. Hearing my favourite song on the radio.
9. Ticking at least one thing off my to-do list before lunchtime.
10. Not having to add anything to that to-do list before lunchtime.
