20 important questions that are worth considering when you’re buying a buggy

There's a lot to consider.

HerFamily

When you’re getting ready to welcome your little bundle of joy, there are a lot of things to organise and buy.

One of the big items on the list is of course the buggy.

With so many brands and models to choose from, it can be hard to know where to start and what questions you should be asking.

To help you out, we’ve devised our own list of must-ask questions for when you come to this major purchase:

  1. How easy is it to fold/set up?
  2. How heavy is it?
  3. What convertible options does it have? (Car seat, pram, buggy etc.)
  4. Is it washable?
  5. Is it narrow enough for strolling through the shops?
  6. Is the basket big enough for our groceries?
  7. What price is it?
  8. Does it fit in the boot of the car?
  9. Does it fit in the cupboard at home?
  10. Does it have a cup holder? (We need our caffeine fix.)
  11. Will [insert airline of choice here] take it in the hold? (This is more important than you might think!)
  12. What accessories come with it?
  13. Can I operate it with one hand whilst holding a child in the other?
  14. Does anyone I know have one?
  15. Can you buy new colours?
  16. Is it compatible with my car seat?
  17. Can you turn the seat around to be forward or rear facing?
  18. How long will it last?
  19. Does it have adjustable handles? (In case you and your partner are different heights.)
  20. Do I need space for more than one child?

And here’s another one that we got from a reader…

What warranty does it come with?
