How many times have you heard the words ‘I’m bored’ so far this Summer?
If you can only count the number of times of one hand, then count yourself lucky. If you’ve heard them too many times already, you’re not alone.
Here are three cool things that might just help to keep your kids busy (rather than bored) this Summer…
1. Rainbow toast
Supplies:
- Milk
- Food colouring
- Paint brushes
- Bread (white works best)
Directions: Add several drops of food colouring to milk and stir. Paint the bread with your edible paint, then pop in the toaster before eating.
2. Homemade bubble station
Via Peninsula Kids
Supplies:
- 1 gallon of water
- 2/3 cup washing up liquid
- 1 tablespoon glycerin
- Beverage dispenser
- Bubble wands
Directions:
Mix all the ingredients together, then let the mixture sit for at least two days before using. Fill the beverage dispenser with bubble solution, then place somewhere where you won’t mind some spills.
3. Bored jar
When all else fails, make a bored jar using any jar or container that you have in the house. You can either use your own activity list to cut up and put in the jar; or print a Summer activity list (with over 150 activities) from Mum In the Mad House.
