This cool night of culture has been in existence for nine years now, and its dynamism as an event grows a little each year. Despite its humble beginnings, Culture Night has become one of Ireland’s top events for both hipsters, culture junkies and families alike.
So what are you waiting for? We have found some of tonight’s top fixtures for you and the family to attend:
Where: Liffey Trust Studios, Dublin 1
Why go? Enjoy an evening of flamenco dance at Dublin School of Flamenco in Liffey Trust Studios. Clap, stomp and have fun with the whole family. Too cool. Shows on at 6pm, 7pm and 8pm for 45-minute per show.
What’s cool? Classes are taught in English and Spanish. Ideal if you should want to brush up on your dance routines and language skills.

2. The Ark
Where: 11A Euctace Street, Temple Bar – close to the IFI
Why go? Whether you’re as big as a house or as small as a mouse, The Ark will have 40 FUN minutes of crazy poems, silly songs and nonsense verses that will be loved by both adults and children alike.
What’s cool? Performers Darina Gallagher and Sinead Murphy share the most absurd and funny writing from some of our best loved children’s authors. Places are limited and must be booked in advance at from 10am on 18th September. For ages 6+.

Where: Dundrum, just up from Dundrum Town Centre. Get off at the Balally Luas stop.
Why go? Culture Night at Airfield is a chance for kids to get their hands dirty.
What’s cool? Spend the evening taking part in nature trails and activities, sample recipes from Airfield’s own Overends restaurant, and even get the chance to taste Airfields own jersey herd milk!
How much? All for free!
Where: 10 Exchequer Street, Dublin 2
Why go? Aerial Cirque invites all the family to their city centre studio on Culture Night to enjoy a stunning show of aerial performance.
What’s cool? Don’t miss out on your chance to learn how to fly in the aerial cocoons!
How much? Free, but requires booking.
Where: 39 East Essex Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2
Why go? Meet the Artistic Director for chats, questions and a tour of the exhibition at 6pm, and be in with a chance to win some fantastic prizes.
What’s cool? Children visiting Project Arts Centre on Culture Night can dream up their very own show as part of a fun drawing competition.
How much? Free
Where: Dundrum Town Centre
Why go? Budding young actors visiting Mill Theatre Dundrum on Culture Night can enjoy a free performing arts workshop.
What’s cool? A professional drama tutor will engage with kids, and give them an insight in all aspects of performance, like singing, drama, dance and voice-acting.

7. National Gallery of Ireland
Where: Merrion Square West, Dublin 2
Why go? Enjoy tours and talks throughout the evening, view our Sean Scully exhibition, see ‘Ireland’s Favourite Painting’, and get creative in a range of family activities, drawing demonstrations and workshops.
What’s cool? Specially-created dance performances and music in the café. 10% reduction on purchases in the gorgeous gallery shop.

Where: 19 Parnell Square, Dublin 1
Why go? Immerse yourself in literary fun for all ages and have fun at the Children’s Books Ireland Book Clinic.
What’s cool? Meet the Book Doctor, who wears a white coat and consults with her patients, assessing their book needs before issuing them with a prescription for their next read.
