This is the exact age that we find our children the most adorable

Do you agree with this?

There is no denying that every stage of parenting has its good and its bad moments.

But now a study has revealed at what exact age we find our children the most adorable, fun and easy to get on with. Let’s see if you agree.

According to a UK study conducted by Soren, where 2000 parents where surveyed, children are the most fun at aged five. Nearly 40 per cent of parents said their children were at their best at five because they “had started to communicate properly” and “develop a good sense of humour.”

There is no denying that 5-year-olds are great (really, it’s true). They are curious, clever, full of energy and just LOVE to spend time with mum and dad. But what did parents think were the LEAST fun age, you might ask?

Well, if you currently are in possession of a lovely 5-year-old, it looks like the worst is yet to come. According to the parents polled in the study, the hardest part in parenting arrives when the child has just turned 10. The tween years between 10 and 12 were listed as the time period when parents find their children most difficult to spend time with.

The newborn, toddler and preschool years came in the middle of the most stressful and most fun period in parenting (which, in fairness, sounds about right when you take terrible two’s and – sometimes – even more terrible “threenagers” in to account!).

Overall, though, most parents agreed that parenting is a 50/50 split between ‘fun’ and ‘hard work’, regardless of what age and stage their child is at.
