Apparently, having THIS many children causes the most stress

Two’s company, three’s…stress, according to this survey.

Does having more children equate to more stress?

Undoubtedly, one child is a huge responsibility, two is doubling that pressure, so is a hat-trick simply taking on way too much?

If you’re thinking of having a third child, or you already do, this TODAY survey might be of interest to you. The survey of more than 7,000 U.S. mothers in 2013 suggested that mothers of three children stress more than mums of one or two, while mothers of four or more children reported lower stress levels.

The fascinating survey revealed that mums ranked their stress levels at a worrying 8.5 out of 10 on average.

Factors impacting stress included financial woes, juggling a family and a career and the feeling of indecency as a parent.

The study also reported that nine out of 10 mums worry about staying “fit and attractive”. Perhaps this enormous pressure a lot of women are putting themselves under to try and attain a certain level of perfection in our roles as girlfriends, wives, mothers, working professionals and more is creating excessive stress in our lives.

Maybe the reason parenting is more stressful for women and more fun for men is because some dads put less pressure on themselves to try and be perfect.

Mums, what do you think? Do women put themselves under pressure trying to attain it all? Are three kids a lot more difficult than two?
