Baz Ashmawy latest Instagram is one parents will definitely be able to relate to

"It's an absolute nightmare."

“This is wasting valuable story and snack time.”

Homework: the source of much consternation at the dining table in every family home across the country.

From the moment your child starts school, homework becomes a permanent fixture in your afternoons for a long long time.

Sometimes, however, it ends up taking over your afternoon (and evening) entirely.

Baz Ashmawy had plenty of parents nodding their heads in the agreement with his latest social media post, talking about the “madness” of his kids’ schoolwork.

He captioned the post:

“Little kids homework that takes longer than an hour is maaadness

“It bores the tits off me/us (as you can see)”

“SERIOUSLY this is wasting valuable story and snack time.  #thetwitsroalddahl”

Plenty of parents were able to relate to the schoolwork situation, sharing their own homework wars in the comments.

One person said:

“Its punishment for the parents…. It’s an absloute nightmare. The teachers hate the homework as much as the pupils & parents.

“It’s defo something that needs to be addressed within the school system.”

Another social media user said:

“Nope, don’t do it, I timed my daughter for a week and sent a note in to say she had far too much to do, told them how long it was taking, they re-assessed it, she gets less now in 5th class than 3rd.”

Meanwhile, a different person commented:

“If it takes longer than half an hour I just don’t do it and send a note to teacher stating it was taking too long.

“As long as they get to practice their reading every day I don’t care. Not worth it!

“Lots of studies done to say that study at home is of no benefit til they reach secondary school!”
