Nicky Byrne has spoken honestly about the birth of his premature twins.

The DJ and former-Westlife member said that when his sons, Rocco and Jay, were born 10 years ago, he found it difficult to even buy clothes for the babies.

“It’s a lot better nowadays. Even in the 10 years since Rocco and Jay being born. I remember when they were born and were in incubators, you couldn’t by clothes that small.

“Some people had to buy dolls clothes.”

Nicky was speaking yesterday morning on his 2fm radio show.

Today marks World Prematurity Day – a day of recognition and awareness for premature babies.

They were delivered via emergency Caesarian section in 2007.

“It’s something close to my heart.

“Rocco and Jay were born eight weeks and two days early so they spent the first four or five weeks of their lives in incubators in Holles Street.”
