This Dad Just Became An Internet Sensation For The Sweetest Reason

Trine Jensen-Burke

Sure we all bend over backwards to make our children happy.

But this UK dad might have just taken the task of putting a smile on his daughter’s face to a whole new level, we think.

When Danny Arnold’s three-year-old daughter was too scared to dress up as Batman for her pre-school’s Superhero Day, her dad was quick to put all her fears aside.

By wearing his very own superhero costume as he walked her into school.

All together now: Awhhhhhh…

Little Phoebe Arnold, from Merseyside, is a big Batman fan, but thought her classmates might laugh at her if she wore the ‘boy’s outfit’ for her school’s ‘Superhero Day’.

In a bid to get his daughter to class, Danny, 29, donned a Superman costume – and the photo of the pair walking in together has become an online hit, with thousands of shares on Facebook.

This is what the very cool dad wrote about the incident on his Facebook page after a snap of the daddy-daughter went viral:

“I gave Phoebe her superhero outfit this morn for her school “superhero day” but she refused to put it on because she was afraid of being different. she said she felt silly.

‘So I put my kit on so she wouldn’t be alone.

‘Your children should never feel silly! or if they do – not care about doing so” too many people these days concern themselves with how other people think about them – even complete strangers. do whatever makes you smile and live a little.”

To MailOnline, he explains:

“Phoebe loves Batman but kept saying that it was for boys and that she didn’t want to wear it anymore. So I told her Superman and Batman are best friends so I thought it’d make her happy if I dressed up too – and she loved it.”

Father-of-two Danny also got creative by painting Phoebe’s mask pink and getting her a black sparkly tutu – which made her look more like ‘Batgirl’.

“My approach to things like this is that you should be who you want to be – and I didn’t want my daughter thinking she couldn’t be Batman just because she’s a girl,” he explains. “It was so worth it to see her face, she beamed the whole way to school and everyone was looking at us.”

What do YOU think, guys? Dad of The Year, or what?!
