Dying for a foreign holiday? Karen Koster just shared a picture that might make you feel better

Ah, what we wouldn’t give for a holiday right now.

Finding your dream destination, looking up hotel and restaurant reviews, packing a suitcase, going to the airport…

I am almost salivating at the thought, and literally cannot wait until leisure travel is a thing once more.

However, let’s also be honest – much as it is lovely building memories and seeing the world with them, travelling with young kids is also pretty stressful.

Especially the getting to your destination part.

And as someone who’s daughter had 100 flights under her belt before turning two, I think I am qualified to say so.

Manoeuvring them through busy airports, trying to get them to stay in their seat, changing nappies in aeroplane toilets – been there, stressed my way through that.

And yes, we love travelling and I cannot wait to do it again – and maybe we’ll be SO dying to travel again by the time we can do it, that we won’t mind any of the stress. Maybe.

To help us all out with the travel nostalgia, TV3’s Karen Koster just shared an image to her Instagram that might make us all feel a bit better:

Koster, 39, who is a mum of three, writes:

“Whenever I get a yearning for a holiday abroad, I just look at this picture, and I’m grand again.

This time last year.”

Oh, how this image resonates with me – it IS after all how I have spent most flights for the past decade.

And yet, it still doesn’t stop me counting down the minutes until I can do it all again!
