Emily Andréa has opened up about her role as a step-parent to her husband’s kids with ex-wife Katie Price.

Emily and Peter André have two kids of their own; three-year-old Amelia and ten-month-old Theo, but Pete is also dad to Junior, 12, and Princess, 10, from his first marriage.

In her first ever solo TV interview this morning, Emily, who took Peter’s original surname Andréa when she married him, said that she enjoys the role.

“I love it and this may sound quite cliché but being with them taught me what I needed to do before I had my own,” she told Lorraine Kelly on ITV’s Lorraine.

“They are the loveliest children.” She pointed out that there’s just 12 years between her and Junior.

“I’m quite young really so I don’t know if they do see me as a step-mum. Maybe they see me as a big sister!”

In the interview, Emily also admitted that she feels guilty for having a Cesarean section last year.

She gave birth to daughter Amelia naturally and said she had expected the same for Theo’s birth last year.

“The birth itself was fine but he was breech… it was a planned ceasarean in the end, which I just didn’t expect. I felt disappointed.”

“I felt like I had let him down because it is more risky having a ceasarean than having a natural birth so I was worried about him.

Emily, who is a doctor, explained that her work meant she was very aware of any possible complications.

“I looked into all the risks and worried myself more than I should have done.”
