Chris O’Dowd has said he was worried he wouldn’t get his latest film role because of the birth of his son.

The Roscommon born actor joked that he feared his second child being born would mean he wouldn’t be able to start work on his new film, Juliet, Naked.

However, luckily for him, production was pushed back a bit to accommodate his new arrival.

Handy.

O’Dowd told The Sun:

“When we were due to shoot, we were also due, so we had to put (the film) back a bit.

“I was very much expecting to be fired, but it was much nicer than that.”

Much nicer, indeed.

Chris and wife Dawn Porter have been married since 2012.

The pair have two sons together – two-year-old Art, and baby Valentine who was welcomed last year.

Following their tying of the knot, TV presenter Dawn decided to change her last name to O’Porter.

Get it? Because of O’Dowd. You get it.

Earlier this week, Dawn took to Instagram to share a very cute snap of herself and Chris as she celebrated her 39th birthday with a birthday cake that read: “A womb of one’s own.”

In the post’s caption, she wrote:

“When we met I was heavily into ‘A Room of One’s Own’ by Virginia Woolf. I would quote ‘a woman needs money and a room of her own if she is to write fiction’. I think it’s true.

“Maybe not so much the money, but certainly the room. So he got me a cake to mark the end of childbearing and the start of properly getting back to work. Pretty cute.”

Pretty cute, indeed.
