Do exes need to be bitter at one another forever? No.
But do they need to go on their former partner's honeymoon with someone new? Also no.
At least, that's what we thought but it turns out that it can be done.
Gwyneth Paltrow and her TV producer hubby Brad Falchuk wed last last year and rounded off their celebrations with a holiday to the Maldives that included her ex-husband Chris Martin and Chris's girlfriend Dakota Johnson.
To be fair, Gwyneth and Brad did enjoy a short getaway to Italy together directly after they tied the knot but the Maldives trip was a "family honeymoon", she has said.
"It was a very modern honeymoon,” Gwyneth said on chat show Live With Kelly and Ryan.
“We had a great time."
The couple were joined by Chris, Dakota, her kids Apple and Moses and Brad's children from his previous marriage.
Chris and Gwyneth separated in 2014 but have done their best to stay friends
"We just wanted to minimise the pain for the kids," she said.
"They just want to see their parents around the dinner table, basically, so we just try to keep that."
The group stayed at Soneva Jani, an exclusive resort that boasts villas on stilts in the sea.
The villas start from $3,000 a night, with the most expensive costing $20,000.
