“They promise as teenagers that it’s not impacting on them, but obviously you know better as an adult.”

Jeff Brazier has said that his sons continue to struggle with the death of their mother, Jade Goody.

Jade passed away in 2009 after a short battle with cervical cancer. The reality star had received her terminal diagnosis a few months before.

She was 27.

This March will mark the 10th year anniversary of Jade’s death – a time that ex Jeff Brazier says her sons, Bobby and Freddie, are finding difficult.

Speaking at an event for charity Grief Encounter, Jeff said that as a parent, he wishes he could protect them from pain.

“We’re coming up close to the 10th anniversary, which is a really difficult time,” he said. “It really stirs up so much in them.

“You can see their behaviour is slightly altered as a result.”

“They promise as teenagers that it’s not impacting on them, but obviously you know better as an adult. You can see it, and it’s really difficult when your little babies are struggling or suffering with something that you can’t take away.”

The Mirror reports that Jeff, who is an ambassador for the charity, said that even though he recognises his sons may be struggling, he also knows that they have the tools to get through whatever pain they might face.

“I have no concern over their future at all,” he said “it’s just about getting them to a point where they are able to express their loss, because if they can do that, or at least I’ve told myself, that’s my job done.”

Jade passed away on March 22, 2009.

Her sons are now 14 and 15-years-old.
