Kate Middleton shares Prince William’s struggles with parenthood

The Duchess shared details on William's initial struggles with a single father at a recent event.

While attending a public engagement at Hornsey Road Children's Centre, the Duchess of Cambridge discussed the the Duke of Cambridge initially found fatherhood quite difficult.

During today’s visit to Hornsey Road Children's Centre, The Duchess saw the facilities which support local parents and young children, and learnt more about Family Action's perinatal mental health services which operate nationwide. The Duchess also heard some of the personal experiences from parents who have benefited from the charity's support.

Kate told Billy, a man who is bringing up his seven-month-old daughter Violeta alone that William too initially had difficulties with parenthood. Billy recalled the meeting to Hello! saying: "She was saying William was sort of similar and I just wanted to let her know how Family Action have been there for me and I think they need more support." This isn't the first time the royal couple have discussed parenthood difficulties, when Prince William was on a visit to Vietnam in 2016 he shared that he has "wonderful highs and wonderful lows," and admitted to struggling with his children at times.

The Duchess of Cambridge today visited Hornsey Road Children's Centre in London. Her Royal Highness saw some of the valuable family and parental support services which are delivered at the Centre, some of which are run by the charity Family Action, of which The Queen is Patron. ?PA

The Duchess also spoke with other parents at the event, speaking to one woman Michelle about her son Jacob, who is similar in age to Kate's eldest child, George. Kate spoke to Michelle about science and their children's fascination with aviation, Michelle recalled to Hello! Magazine.

The royal couple are now expecting their third child and are already parents to four-year-old Prince George  and two-year-old Princess Charlotte. It is rumoured that Kate is due to give birth in April, 2018.
