"Now he’s been playing and chatting for half hour and DP (dear partner) refusing to say anything to his parents.
"Grrr!! Can’t sleep now and they’re teaching him bad habits so he’ll think he can wake at 4.30 for f*cking breakfast."
Plenty of other forum users took the angry mum's side.
Many said she should let the grandmother deal with the toddler herself if he's fussy later while one even suggested a ban on sleepovers.
"This would make me want to scream... I'd be fuming too."
"When he’s grumpy later let MIL deal with it, smile sweetly and say 'I’ll let you sort out the grumpiness you’ve caused' and walk away."
"Go back to sleep and let MIL deal with him if she wants him up early."
"If this is a regular thing then I wouldn't be having MIL stay over anymore, it's a terrible habit."
Other parents thought the mum was taking the situation too seriously, with one telling her to chill out.
"Sounds sweet to me. Go back to sleep and have a lie in."
"If it's a one off it's absolutely fine... Try and chill out a bit."
"How lovely, you are lucky to have a granny that loves your DC (dear child)."
"Oh dear, are you always this uptight?"
