Rob Delaney has discussed experiencing the birth of his fourth child so soon after the death of his son, Henry.

The comedian and actor lost his two-year-old son earlier this year after he was diagnosed with a fatal brain tumour. Rob and wife Leah welcomed their fourth son just seven months after. The comedian has said that he feels like the two boys "exist in separate lanes." Speaking to The Sunday Times Magazine, he said: 

"We likely would've had a fourth anyway, but there are mixed feelings.

"It's sort of like they touch each other a little bit, but they almost exist in separate lanes. Having another child in no way, shape or form eases the grief of Henry dying."

Rob also said that Henry's tragic death doesn't make his youngest son's life "any less magical."

"I want to gobble him up and he deserves our full attention and love - and he grew in the same womb as Henry."

Earlier this year, Rob shared a post on Medium about his time spent in the hospital with Henry, his son's strength, and how happy he was to see him every day. In it, he admitted that he had wanted to write a book to other parents with sick children to let them know that someone cared. He said that after Henry died, he couldn't write the book anymore. "Our family’s story has a different ending than I’d hoped for," he wrote.
