You bicker, argue, scheme, plot, torture and secretly hope that they're adopted, but we also know that you love your sister. (Sort of... when they're nice... sometimes.... on rare occasions.)
Regardless of how annoying or perfect your sister is - we'll let you choose the correct category there - a study has revealed that people should be absolutely delighted to have one.
Researchers at De Montfort University in Leicester and Ulster University have discovered that people with a sister are more likely to be happier and more optimistic.
After interviewing 571 people aged between 17 and 25, the research showed that people with sisters are more likely to have a balanced lifestyle. They also mentioned the belief that having at least one girl in the family can be beneficial for an individual's emotional wellbeing because females encourage people to talk about their emotions.

The Telegraph, Professor Tony Cassidy commented on the link between good mental health and having a female sibling.
He said: "Emotional expression is fundamental to good psychological health and having sisters promotes this in families. It could be that boys have a natural tendency not to talk about things. With boys together it is about a conspiracy of silence not to talk. Girls tend to break that down."
Will this new information cause people everywhere to stop bickering with their sister?
We think not.
