Tom and Giovanna Fletcher react to the John Lewis Christmas advertisement

It's a tradition for the couple.

Yesterday saw the debut of the highly anticipated John Lewis Christmas ad. Earlier this year it was announced that Sir Elton John would both star in and perform the song for the famous advert this Christmas, with insiders revealing it would tell the story of the star's life. This year’s ad is titled, The Boy and the Piano and is set to the soundtrack of Elton’s first big hit, Your Song. Like most people, Tom and Giovanna Fletcher couldn't wait to see this year's ad and the couple have a sweet tradition of filming their reaction. Talking to Instagram Stories, the former McFly star shared his excitement with followers saying:

"It's always the official start of Christmas, isn't it? Today's the day. It has arrived."

Giovanna shared the adorable video of the pair, tears streaming down their faces, having watched the ad which tells the story of Elton’s first piano and how it was "more than just a gift" and helped him become the musical icon he is today. They both agreed that it had a "really nice sentiment" and is also about how short life is. The author and Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast presenter received some lovely comments from followers after posting the reaction video. One person said,

"My rather odd tradition is watching your guys reaction every year!! It officially marks the start of Christmas! I love it!! :) this years ad is another special one :)"

It seems like the festive spirit is beginning to creep in and we couldn't be happier about it.
