Should we be having fewer children for the sake of the environment?

Behati Prinsloo, who’s married to Maroon 5’s Adam Levine, is expecting the couple’s second baby.

The model shared an intimate snap from her recent bump shoot on Instagram earlier this week but not all of her followers approved.

The shot shows Behati holding the couple’s other child, 15-month-old Dusty Rose, on top of her bump.

“Happy New Year!” she wrote. “Let’s be kind to one another and our planet… 2017 was cray. Can’t wait to meet our newest addition in 2018.”

We thought the whole thing was pretty cute and so did most of Behati’s fans, but one follower took issue with her post, calling it offensive.

“Let’s be kind to our planet? How can you say such a thing with 1 kid and another on the way?,” commented an account called Ethic Model Management.

“Maybe being kind to the planet means to stop breeding and focus on how to help people (whom children) who are already here? Adopting instead ?

“Maybe being kind to the planet is understanding that the way we are consuming is damaging nature, animals and other humans?

Behati didn’t respond to the criticism but she’s not the first celebrity to be targeted in this way over growing their family.

Before they announced that they were expecting a third child last year, children’s organisation Having Kids called on Kate Middleton and Prince William not to have any more children.

“Large families are not sustainable,” said its Executive Director President, Anne Green Carter Dillard in a statement.

“Many studies… show family planning has the most potential for mitigating climate change and its impacts. The future of your country will be defined by the impacts of climate change.”
