She gets it.

Whether its missing school pick-ups and activities or having to leave the little ones with someone else for long periods of time, working parents are no strangers to feeling guilty.

Regardless of how much time or effort you put in, being away from your kids is tough no matter what your line of work is.

Its something that Eva Mendes, who has two daughters with husband Ryan Reynolds, understands.

The actress was in Miami to launch her clothing line this week and said that mum guilt is something she wasn’t prepared for before becoming a mother.

Asked how she balances working and being a parent, she told E! News, “I don’t know how I find balance, because I think it is like a day-to-day kind of struggle, you know?”

She added that looking after herself is vital for mums but said she still struggles with guilt.

“I’m all for obviously taking care of myself—that’s how I can take care of them of course—but that guilt that is just kind of always there. It’s like, ‘Ugh, this is gonna be there forever now.'”

Eva, whose daughters Esme and Amada are three and one, also said that she avoids events to spend time with her family.

“What people don’t know about me is that I love being home,” the star explained.

“Instead of hitting the red carpet, I’d rather be with our girls.”
