The most heartfelt letter that’s bringing countless parents to tears

Try to hold back the tears.

Louise Carroll

It’s the letter being hailed as the one thing every new parent (or not so new parent) should most definitely read.

Nobody truly knows what to expect when having their first child. We all hear how special and rewarding each and every moment is – and undoubtedly this is true. But the most important job in the world certainly doesn’t come without those incredibly hard, stressful and exhausting days as many parents are all too aware.

Mums and dads often feel very alone during these hard times but to help keep spirits high, the NHS Ayshire Maternity Unit, situated outside Glasgow, shared the most beautiful letter just for parents of little ones. Essentially the message is, yes, it’s hard. Expect bumps and hurdles, but know that you’re not alone and you’re doing just fab.

Written on behalf of every little gorgeous new born, and for their parents, the heart-warming words have proven very comforting to many. Filled with gentle reminders of how imprtant it is to “hold, cuddle, kiss, touch, stroke, and croon,” as well as to imagine how your little one is so new to the world – having to ask for food as they’ve never had to do so before. It’s clear it’s a new kind of life for everyone involved and it’s awsome.

Good god, where did we leave the tissues?!
