Since becoming a parent people always ask me if it's hard to get babysitters for nights out, but most parents will tell you that's not really when we want some 'us time'. I'd much prefer to have a sitter during the day so I could go to the shop without worrying that my child is going to get fussy or need to be changed. I'd love to be able to catch lunch during the day or go to the salon without a toddler pulling at me or demanding Peppa Pig on my phone. When it comes to parenting it's the little things and sometimes just getting to go to Penneys on your own is like a vacation that's why this Tik Tok video is so relatable. In the video the husband (I'm assuming his name is Mike because the account is called Mike and Kat) films his wife reacting to finding out they are going to spend the day child free. He slow motion turn when he says that they have a sitter and can go shopping is everything though my absolute favourite part is when she whispers under her breath 'mimosas'. I really felt that in my soul. I remember once asking a relative who didn't have kids if they could watch my eldest when he was a baby so I could have a chill day and have a long shower and eat a meal while it was still hot and they did not get it at all. Sometimes as parents though you just need those few hours to yourself though for your mental health and there's nothing wrong with that. It doesn't mean you don't love your child it just means that your human and you need some time to get your energy back. And hey you can't look after anyone else until you look after yourself first.
