The internet is loving Princess Eugenie’s “very real” first baby pictures

Anyone who has just had a baby knows that getting glammed up – heck, even putting on actual clothes – is pretty far down your list of priorities right now.

Between feeding and burping and changing nappies and feeding again and trying to remember when the last time you took a shower was, very few of us feel like we have time – or inclination – to dress up and try to look perfectly put-together.

And so when Princess Eugenie over the weekend took to Instagram to share the first snaps of her little boy – and reveal his name – it wasn’t just the adorable pictures that captured the hearts of mums everywhere, but the fact that the 30-year-old royal indeed looked like a ‘normal’ new mum.

In the sweet post, the princess even revealed that the family photos of herself, husband Jack Brooksbank and little August Philip Hawke Brooksbank were captured by their midwife, as she made a home visit to the brand new little family.

“Our hearts are full of love for this little human, words can’t express,” the British royal wrote in the caption. “We are excited to be able to share these photos with you.”

And the replies to the post proved her followers were excited, too — some about getting the first glimpse of little August, while others were simply happy to see the new mum look like … a new mum.

“(I) love that she looks so real and not glammed – like most mums in the early haze of having a newborn,” one commenter wrote.

Mixed in with the usual congratulations and compliments on the adorable bundle of joy were repeated praises for the 30-year-old princess’s decision to skip the glitz and to make no effort to hide her post-baby bump.

“Thank you for sharing a true postpartum picture,” another follower wrote. “You look beautiful! Giving birth is a true milestone.”

While yet another follower commented that she loved seeing “a princess that looks like the rest of us after birthing a child.”
