Irish Kids Reveal What They Want To Be When They Grow Up

HerFamily

A survey has revealed what Irish kids want to be when they grow up and it goes to show that things have changed since our day.

The study, which was conducted by CALPOL as part of their ‘Let Kids Be Kids’ campaign, focused on children aged between 6 and 12 years old.

The number one ambition for little girls is apparently a career in education with a third saying they would like to be a teacher when they’re older.

The next two most popular roles were found to be a doctor and nurse with the dream of being a singer falling down to fourth spot. Living life on the big screen, as an actress, rounded out the top five dream jobs for girls.

As for boys, the ultimate dream for almost half of those asked was being a professional athlete. This was followed by the ambition of being a video game designer (let’s face it, they play enough of them).

The other most popular careers among young lads included being a fireman, a doctor and a teacher.

From dream jobs to ultimate wishes, Disneyland dominated the list of things kids would hope for with 46 per cent of the vote.

Living in a mansion came in second with a visit to Legoland, owning a fast car and having lots of computer games rounding out the top five.

Well, if they want to tick all of those things off the list, they’d need to get working on landing those dream jobs!
