How your kids can celebrate the NYE countdown (BEFORE midnight)

It's the one time of year when we can - unashamedly - stick on the TV for the kids and snuggle up for hours of viewing.

So we read with interest Netflix's just-announced weekend offerings for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day... including nine new, on-demand countdown videos. Three years ago, Netflix "set out to help families manage New Year’s Eve by creating the first-ever on demand countdown for kids," the streaming service said on Friday. "Kids got to celebrate with mum and dad... and parents got the kids to bed before midnight - it was a win-win for everyone. And this year, the likes of All Hail King Julien; Beat Bugs; Larva; Pororo; Puffin Rock; Skylanders Academy; True And The Rainbow Kingdom; Trollhunters, and Word Party are all options that you can stick on without having to actually wait until the clock strikes midnight. 1) Puffin Rock As 2018 dawns, Oona, baba and their family remember all the amazing, fun adventures they had during the past year. 2) Beat Bugs The Beat Bugs have been working hard to get the garden prepped for a New Year’s Eve dance party – and it wont be long till it’s time to celebrate! 3) All Hail King Julian It’s almost midnight somewhere in the world, so to welcome the New Year King Julien decrees that every in Lemur in Madagascar must do one thing: Party! 4) Trollhunters Trolls, Goblins, humans, Gumm-Gumms - all manner of creatures stop to celebrate the New Year.
