Mammies we want to Momdopt

Is momdopt a word? It should be

HerFamily

We are not talking to a brick wall when we tell you that our Mammies are totes the coolest on the planet. We all know ‘beds are not made for jumping on’ – why? Because mammy said. Fast forward to the naughties and ‘money does not grow on trees’ resonates now clearer than it ever did but, hey, we never listened to that one either.

Here’s the list. Why the Irish mammy is unorthodox, cooler-than-cool when it comes to taking life by the balls and we why we want to adopt her as our own Irish mammy:

Amy Huberman – our ‘comic mom’

Hubes extracts the proverbial out of BOD, herself, her friends and the President, most recently. She brightens up our day with her extreme sarcasm and the on-point jokes about her new baby Billy.

Lisa Fitzpatrick  – our ‘style mom’

This yummy mummy has millions more Twitter followers than her kids! That must be great for poking fun at each other during dinner-time. The style Queen who knows more about Balmain than Balmain themselves, is at position two.

Jean Byrne  – ‘our too-cool-for-school mom’

The mammy of Irish weather ‘prefers traveling incognito,’ when on her days off from RTE’s weather programme, according to an interview she did a while back. Jean just tell us: Are you constantly wearing leather because you are working for the CIA and are ready to ‘Bourne Identity’ your way right on outta here when things in RTE get crazeh? Love it.cats3

Mrs Brown – our ‘pseudo mom’

As mammies go, she is a bit of a legend. She doesn’t care what anyone thinks, wears the coolest vintage cardi’s and doesn’t take herself seriously apart from when historical decisions need to be made. It’s pretty damn cool when the world’s biggest superstar just mentions you in a marriage equality post. Yep. ‘Mammy’ who rules.

Karen Koster – Our ‘doting mom’

She oozes confidence, has a carefree, down-to-earth nature and could she be our favourite TV personality? Ssssh. She delivers the sweetest tweets about her baby boy Finn and shares her jelly-belly pics on Instagram for mutual jelly-belly appreciation. How could you not want to momdopt her? #tvmom
