Mother Pens Touching Open Letter to Son’s Bullies

HerFamily

We’ve all experienced bullying at some point in our lives. Maybe you were a victim. Or perhaps you witnessed bullying. Then again, maybe you’ve had to comfort your child after they were picked on at school.

That was the case for MaryAnn Parisi from Connecticut.

Her son Michael was being bullied at school so she decided to write an open letter to the kids in question, telling them about everything he has been through.

Michael was born 26 weeks premature and since his birth has overcome a number of obstacles.

She explained: “Maybe knowing his background is the difference. Even the best children have moments of insecurity and weakness.

“Teaching and showing them why he (or anybody else) is different might be the more positive way. Sometimes knowing is learning and growing. Sometimes we all need a reminder, because we all can have our moments.”

This might be long winded. I apologize for that. We all have children in our lives in some way or another, I challenge…

MaryAnn finishes off her post on a powerful note, writing: “You don’t have to like him, but you do have to respect him. He’s a fighter, that’s a very small portion of his story. Share, teach, grow. Most importantly respect those around, you never know what they have been through.”

Not long after she uploaded her post – which has now been shared over 3,000 times – MaryAnn revealed that she will be working with Michael’s school to try to put an end to bullying.
