Sometimes as a parent it can feel like you never get it right.
Everyone else knows exactly what they’re doing and you’re completely adrift. Out on your own.
The truth of it is that none of us know what we’re doing. We’re all just winging it.
One mum absolutely hit the nail on the head with a Facebook post on being a parent.
Blogger Popcorn for Lunch, let other parents know that they are ‘not the only one’.
The hilariously honest post resonated with a lot of other parents and it’s easy to see why.
My personal favourites were;
“You are not the only one who can’t be arsed with small talk at the school gates.”
“You are not the only one whose house looks as though an atomic yogurt/saliva/clothes/shit bomb went off.”
“You are not the only one who has the social life of a tin opener.”
I think we’ve all had those days where we feel like we’re the only one struggling.
Social media can often be a big factor in this as we constantly compare ourselves to everyone else’s perfect posts.
It’s refreshing to see such an honest post online. We all need to know that we are not alone from time to time.
