“Please settle an argument for me. Are headbands on baby girls chavvy? “DH was outraged I put one on DD and said they're chavvy. “I don't think they are!”[caption id="attachment_228848" align="alignnone" width="790"]

However, unfortunately for the original poster, the majority of Mumsnet users seemed to agree with her husband.
One mum said:
“I don’t personally like them as I think they are tacky! I would never put such a thing on my dd. “However what someone puts on their own baby I couldn’t care less.”
Another added:
"Personally I think they’re utterly ridiculous and look horrendous."Someone else, rather bluntly, wrote:
"It’s awful. Please don’t do this to her, she’s not a Yorkshire Terrier. "And if I were here I’d find it really irritating."
Other commenters warned her against the trend, saying that it was a potential hazard to her little one.
One person wrote:
"Yes, chavvy and dangerous. If they slip down over a small baby's face they can suffocate."Another added:
"Choosing to put a strangulation risk on your child to prove they are female is stupid."
