Mum-of-three shares 27 things she’d go back and tell herself as a first-time mum

Oh, hindsight.

It's a wonderful thing, isn't it? Allowing us to see so clearly now what we did not see then. I have often wondered how I would have done things differently had I been able to live certain situations over again. I think we all do, I think this is human nature, to an extent anyway. What about motherhood? What if you knew then what you know now? Would you have done something differently? What would you have told your pre-motherhood or new-mum self if you could meet her today? I am now 10 years into being a mum – and it still amazes me both how quick these years have flown by, but also how I can barely remember who I was before I was my children's mum. I think if I could have given myself one solid piece of advice back then, when it was all so new, it would have simply been to just embrace and savour it all. Because I know now how fast it all goes by. Also – I would have reassured myself that love is enough. I love them, they love me, and everything else will fall into place.
