A mother in the UK has urged parents to be extra careful when using public baby-changing facilities after she discovered that the mat she used had been vandalised with drawing pins.
Hayley Turner explained on Facebook that when she put her son Samuel down on the baby-changing mat, he started screaming.
Whilst she thought he was simply grouchy, and so changed his nappy as quickly as possible, the real reason was much more sinister.
She wrote: “It turns out some lowlife scum thought it would be ‘fun’ to deliberately put drawing pins in the bottom of the changing mat. Our poor baby boy was led on pins!!!
“And because he isn’t old enough to tell me it hurt, he now looks like a pin cushion with 5 holes in total! Angry doesn’t even cover it.
“It’s quite sad to think this has to be done but my word of warning is to CHECK YOUR CHANGING MATS!! [sic].”
Hayley’s post, which does not reveal where the facilities were, has been shared almost 70,000 times since being uploaded on Friday.
