This mum’s post-birth photo has generated A LOT of opinion

Trine Jensen-Burke

I don’t know about you, but once the pushing a baby out of my body bit of labour was done, I was all about soaking up just how gorgeous this brand new baby was.

And then making sure everyone else got to see it for themselves, sending pictures of my little bundles to my family and friends.

I would assume this is the case for most new mamas.

However, when famously controversial mum blogger Constance Hall posted a snap of herself on her  iPhone right after the birth of her baby #5, the mummy shamers were quick to pounce.

Sharing this moment on her Facebook page, Hall captioned the image: “Possibly my favourite photo from the birth of Raja . . . welcome to the matriarchy! Queen just had a baby, yo.”

Many (mostly women) judged her drink of choice, but most called her out for not being more present with her just-born baby. One commented sarcastically, “it’s important to check your phone right now.” Another wrote, “she’s obviously googling parental advice.”

Her fans, of course, defended the mum blogger, with one writing:

“It’s 2018, and everything’s done through them these days – she runs a business and has a family to look after.”

When she became aware of the negative feedback on her snap, Constance took to Facebook once again to defend her choices.

“It’s nobody’s business what a mother is doing on her phone the day she gives birth, if she’s sending her children and mother photos of the baby or googling tit jobs in Thailand,” she wrote.

“In fact the way another mother is mothering…… is not your problem..”
