This mum’s reaction to leaving her child with the childminder is so relatable

"Snot and mascara stream down my face"

Denise Curtin

Every parent ever.

There is nothing worse then the feeling of leaving your child with the childminder for the first time.

At first, you think of all the free, exciting time you are going to have to brunch with friends, take up a yoga class or even just a chance to clean the house in peace. But then, the day arrives when they are about to trot off and you can’t help but cry like a baby (no pun intended).

This little human being has been stuck to your hip for the past three or four years and now they are being separated from you and well, the feeling is pretty overwhelming.

So we can’t help but nod and laugh at this picture posted by blogger Sophie who goes by the name “Tried and Tested“.

She writes: “I’m now doing my best impression of the crying emoji whilst writing out a neurotic user manual for the childminder.”

Evelyn’s apron strings are officially being cut… She’s off into childcare tomorrow for the first time, and to be fair, I think I’m handling it pretty well… I’ve rocked her to sleep for an hour, then snuck back into her room to tell her I love her (for the 50th time) – waking her up in the process…”Oh dear…more mummy cuddles?”. I’m now doing my best impression of the crying emoji whilst writing out a neurotic user manual for the childminder (which includes: ‘She loves cats, but don’t let her near a cat. She loves dogs, but don’t let her near a dog.’, ‘Please blend any spherical food types’, and, ‘If in doubt, CALL 999!!) as snot and mascara stream down my face and into my spag bol. So yeah, I’m fine really, absolutely freaking fine… #areyouok #no #not #ok #uglycrying #mybaby #growinguptoofast #mummy #crying #toomuch #pause #life #parenting #mumlife #mum #minions #mascara #spagbol

The post has got people laughing and recalling times they too had to say bye to the little ones for the first time.

Our favourite line however has to be “snot and mascara stream down my face and into my spag bol”. We hear you sista.

But trust us, it gets easier.
