Need a day out after the Easter binge? Here’s the perfect place to take the family

There’s a little something for everyone.

The Easter holidays can be great – two weeks off, time with the family, chocolate galore – but it can be hard finding something to do every day.

The first week often ends up a bit of a write-off with everyone sleeping in and recovering from work and school, plus it’s mostly just anticipation for the grand event on Sunday when the Easter Bunny pays a visit (it’s getting close now!).

In that second week, though, cabin fever sets in, the kids start getting restless, and it’s time to get out of the house. And if you’re looking for something to do, you can’t go wrong with a family trip to Fairyhouse Racecourse.

Honesty, it’s the perfect day out for the entire crew. Fairyhouse has their three day Easter Festival on over the long weekend which finishes up on Tuesday with their fab Family Fun Raceday. There will be top tier graded races throughout the day so mums and dads will have some entertainment (don’t worry – it’s not just for the kids!).

As for the little ones, well, they definitely won’t run out of things to do. The grounds will be simply packed with children’s activities. Think bouncy castles, face painting, balloon modelling, pony rides (of course), oodles of games, a kids club, and even a cartoon workshop with cartoonist Darren Birdie. Sure they won’t know where to start.

Bring them to get their face painted, grab a bite to eat, and then drop them off at the Front Runner kids club for some more fun while you grab some time to yourself to watch the races.

Oh, and did we mention that kids under 16 go free? I mean, sure it would be rude not to go now…
