Netflix’s newest feature will absolutely make your child’s birthday

Looking for something a bit different to make your little one smile on their birthday?

Netflix's new feature has you covered. Your child's favourite characters will now wish them a happy birthday in new birthday-themed videos available on the streaming service. The 15 videos include characters like Barbie, King Julien, My Little Pony and will keep the kids quiet for at least a little while. While developing its birthday feature, Netflix looked into the pressure on parents for kids' birthdays and to no-one's surprise, found that it's a big deal. In a survey, three quarters of parents admitted that they felt under pressure to have the 'perfect' party for their kids. Sixty per cent of mums and dads said that they were worried about the cost of parties, while 62 per cent admitted that competition with other parents was a concern. Social media is part of the problem for many people with kids as almost half (49 per cent) of parents admitted that the pressures of Facebook, Instagram and the rest stressed them out when it comes to birthday parties. Kids' birthdays certainly aren't what they used to be (does anyone still play 'pin the tail on the donkey'?), but do you feel under pressure to make sure your child's day is perfect? Let us know!
