Nicole Richie has opened up about letting her daughter experiment with make-up.
The fashion mogul shares her nine-year-old daughter, Harlow, with her husband Joel Madden, and they also have an eight-year-old son called Sparrow.
Nicole has recently teamed up with Urban Decay to launch the brand’s new Troublemaker Mascara, and while at it’s debut party in LA, she told People that she’s happy for her daughter to find her own style.
“She’s finding joy in that and I feel like she’s kind of figuring out for herself what she likes and experimenting with different colours,” she explained.
“Whether it’s make-up or not, experimenting with colour is really important for the soul, so I just let her go at it.
“It’s cool. It’s cool to watch.”
However, the former reality star admitted that she has yet to have any “serious talks” with Harlow, but wants to make sure she’s comfortable in her own skin.
Nicole hopes that her daughter will have a healthy approach to makeup and fashion, saying “She loves to experiment with hair, and I let her do that.”
“She’s on her own thing, you know? That’s her thing. She’s a hair and makeup girl,” she added.
