Sam Faiers Hits Back at Criticism Over Son’s Name

Sam Faiers has hit back at the criticism she has received concerning the name of her baby boy. This week the TOWIE star and her partner revealed their new arrival on the cover of OK! magazine. They named him Paul Tony – after his father and uncle. Sam told the publication:  "We always wanted him to be called Paul after his dad. "It’s traditional and we didn’t have any other names on the list, so he’s Paul and his middle name is Tony after Paul’s brother, his Uncle Tony."

But since revealing the moniker, Sam has had to read some unpleasant comments about the choice. One follower wrote on Instagram: “erm what the hell. They named him Paul Tony?” Another said: “Poor kid!!!!!... She needs to put about a grand in the pot for that looooool [sic].” In response to this, the new mum has reposted a fan’s comment defending the name. She captioned it: “Couldn’t have put this in better words myself. Thank you x.”

Picking a name for your child is a very personal thing and we happen to think that Sam's choice is lovely. Sometimes, you just can't win...
