Singer Adele Says That The Pressure To Breastfeed Is “F**king Ridiculous”

HerFamily

Adele is one of the biggest music stars in the entire world but she’s also a mum and isn’t afraid to speak her mind.

And that’s exactly what she did when asked about breastfeeding during a question and answer session at her concert in the O2 in London during the week.

A member of the audience asked her about “breastfeeding mummies” and Adele, who has a 3-year-old son called Angelo, responded with a very honest and impassioned answer.

The singer revealed that she was only able to breastfeed her baby boy for nine weeks before adding that the pressure on women is ridiculous.

Breastfeeding

She is quoted by The Independent as saying: “It’s f**king ridiculous, and all those people who put pressure on us, you can go f**k yourselves, alright?

“Because it’s hard. Some of us can’t do it! I managed about nine weeks with my boobs (I mean I trip over them – I’ve got a very good push-up bra).

“Some of my mates got post-natal depression from the way those midwives were talking… Breastfeed if you can but don’t worry, (formula milk) Aptamil’s just as good.

“I mean, I loved it, all I wanted to do was breastfeed and then I couldn’t and then I felt like, ‘if I was in the jungle now back in the day, my kid would be dead because my milk’s gone.’”

Her comments come only a matter of days after television chef Jamie Oliver sparked debate after speaking out about breastfeeding.

We think it’s amazing that Adele opened up about her own personal experience. Let us know what you think in the Facebook comments or get in touch on Twitter (@HerFamilydotie).
